Yes, we've been having a debate about the best color to inspire a song...if you're waiting for our colorful contribution to the list, well, we're still trying to agree on a particular color. We have eliminated a few: chartreuse, mauve, magenta...what's winning, well, since we keep arm wrestling over black or white, the closest we can come to something winning is (we must confess) either plaid or checkerboard. But we won't be stopping there. Maybe it's time to reconsider chartreuse. Or cerulean.
So here are our non magenta favorites.
Tammy
"Ah, now I don't hardly know her
But I think I could love her"
"Crimson and Clover" Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (bonus band name color!)
Ty
"Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me"
"Blue Christmas" Elvis Presley (bonus for great use of other colors in the lyrics)*
*Tammy insists on mentioning Melissa Etheridge's "excellent" (yes, we're quoting the Tamster) Blue Christmas cover (it's all we listened to last holiday season whenever Tammy had the wheel.)
Tinker
"Hey little sister what have you done
Hey little sister who's the only one"
"White Wedding" Billy Idol
TK
"My mind wanders endlessly
On paths where she's leading me"
"Dressed in Black" Depeche Mode
And as you might have guessed, TK and Tinker are still wrestling over black or white, which leaves us staring at a checkerboard pattern of lyric color quoting insanity long into the night.
