What're we up to?  Well, we ran into a couple of our biggest fans and they want MORE.  So we're feeling like underachievers.  Ever have one of those days?  What do you do?  Well, we pull out the iPods, push in the earbuds or turn up the speakers and let music take us somewhere we can figure it all out (or forget.)

TK was trolling for t-shirts on the web (more on that to come) and actually did something useful like discovered a very cool, eclectic DJ, musician and artist:  Mr. Scruff.  So we're tuned in to his station; click through and give it a try. 

CAPTAIN AMERICA + CASTING

Yes, we have a comic book geek or two among us, but who doesn't love Cap.  And if you answer "I don't" or don't know who we're talking about, yes, that's our glare you can feel on the back of your neck.  You get a minor pass if your native citizenship is not American, but only a minor because, heck, Cap is all the good things the United States is supposed to represent.

As the people casting the Captain America movie seem to be having MAJOR difficulties of a GENERAL sort* in deciding on an actor suited to bring Steve Rogers/Captain America to the screen and since we ALWAYS have an opinion, we've decided to help them out.  So, here are our casting suggestions (and favorite other bits of iconic Americana).

Tammy   mood:  in the mood for eye candy and apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream.

So her Cap suggestion is Zac Efron, well, because:  

• he's dreamy (yes, rest of band making gagging noises now) 
• has the right coloring 
• Can act (or if you're a studio exec, will bring in the female demographic)

TK   mood:  just wants the Avengers movie to get done...

He suggests Ryan McPartlin aka Chuck's Captain Awesome because:

• he's AWESOME 
• that should cover it  
• the Chuck producers originally wanted to turn the character into a Russian agent (so the DVD extra features claim) and couldn't bring themselves to do it.  Sounds like Cap to us.

Tinker   mood:  skating 'round the corner

Her guys are either of the Zeke and Luther pair because:

• skaters are cool
• it's an origin story so Cap should be young w/ 'tude.
• skaters rock...

Ty  mood:  Listening to Springsteen sing "Born In the USA"

10 SECOND DEFINITIONS: WORD 1

We've decided to turn ourselves loose on the English language.  So, enjoy the first of our instructional videos in thinking the Blink Kitty Love way.

STUFFED COVERS

We are great fans of the original, the unique and the Chicagoland stuffed pizza.  So we're ticked off about covers, posers and Pizzeria Uno making money off of people who think they're getting Chicago style.  Travel to the the Second City, see a little improv, wander through the Art Museum, catch a show and head up to Evanston to eat at Giordano's or Carmen's.  We'll meet you there.

So here's our favorite songs that musicians LOVE to put their own stamp on.  Sometimes we don't mind and sometimes, and yes we often mean people who have appeared on American Idol here, we REALLY do.  But we think the American Idol folks already get too much grief.

And yes, we miss the Olympics already. But we'll get over it.  And catch a women's college hockey game, why don't you.
