I really enjoyed the run up to St. Patrick's Day when I discovered that TK and Tinker could have a conversation with song lyrics. But as I conscientiously post daily lyrics, that pushes the video episodes off the front page of the blog. And I don't think that's such a great thing. The lyrics allow me to continue conversations, are fun to find and add value, but the animations and the band (and these little glimpses behind the scenes) are what the site is about... I think a fair compromise is a once a week lyric post with suggestions from all four band members -- conducive to conversation not clutter so it might be a problem solver for me. And more interesting for you.
Tonight's episode of BLink Kitty Love, I, Jobot is a bonus one. I was working on an episode involving a band loosely based on the JoBros, but TK was taking it to a very mean place. So I spent some time pondering the nuances of humor, satire and parody and decided to reboot and go robot. Robots seem to be moving up on the trend meter (now The Watchmen furor is post peak and before Branagh turns everything Nordic). I'm hoping I, Jobot is the start of a Jobot trilogy...could be fun. Then we'll take on Ragnarök.
I, Robot has another bonus -- Gayle did the music for it. She tweaked instruments in GarageBand and made a much more complex sound cocktail than I ever have. So I'm looking forward to what can happen now that I've talked her into collaborating with me on the music. Maybe the first original Blink Kitty Love song --- you'll have to wait awhile though. I'm booked with theatre stuff and we haven't even gotten the band to agree to go into the studio. But I'm pretty sure they can be lured with enough pizza.
